Pre UPSR Answering Techniques Workshops

1 . English Workshop

Paper 1 - I gained tons of useful information from this workshop. Whenever we read questions, we must underline the clues in the sentences and find the most correct answer. The speaker gave us many helpful tips and hints when we went for the workshop. He also said that we have to check all our answers after we finish answering any test that we take. The knowledge that he has given us can help us whenever we do our examinations, or even homework.

Paper 2 - The speaker taught us the better way to answer our English paper 2. When we are doing our section A (Sentence Construction) we must circle the main points given in the picture. After we have finished writing five sentences, we must check our spelling, grammar, handwriting, vocabulary and storyline. We must not make the sentences connected to each other. Next, for section B (Information Transfer) we must read the choices given thoroughly and pick the one that is easiest to answer. Therefore, we will gain more points and increase my chances in getting a high A. Lastly, for section C (Essay Writing) we must write at least four paragraphs with the minimum of 3 sentences in one. We must make sure our sentences in the paragraphs are related to the title, pictures and words give. Once we have finished the whole paper, we must check our punctuation, grammar, vocabulary, spelling and handwriting in the three sections.

2. Bahasa Malaysia Workshop

Pemahaman - For this paper, all important clues in sentences or passages must be underlined. To make sure of the answer, we must cross out those that are wrong. If we are stuck when doing a question, leave it out and continue with the rest. After we have finished the whole examination, go back to the question(s) left out. We must be extra careful when answering this paper as the it is tricky and difficult. We must reread our answers and questions to make sure our answers are correct.

Penulisan - Penulisan is easy to answer if we know how to. As always, we must check every section that we answer. When we answer Section A, we must circle the important activity or situation and write the points next to it. In section B, we must pick ONLY 1 title. We must remember the formats of the essays. if we have forgotten one of them, then do not pick an esay with that format. We MUST write at least six paragraphs to ensure good marks. For section C, all moral values must be underlined from the passage/poem etc. The morals have to be accurate, following the point. We must have five moral values, explanations and examples to it. Our answers must follow the maximum number of words, which is fifty words.

3. Science Workshop

Before we answer our Science paper, we must be well-prepared. Science is all about facts. We must study and read a lot. We must check every single answer and reread the questions. For section B in our Science paper, We must know how to answer the questions properly. The format of the answers we given at this workshop. If any words are missing, our answers might be wrong, so we must memorise the right way of answering.

From this folio, I have learnt many things. I have learnt how to create a blog. I have also learnt the meaning of the word 'tolerance' and what is a conflict. Other than that, I have found out how to cool down when I am involve in a conflict. I found this folio very fun and interesting to do as I created it using my blog.

Story Review : Holes In The Fence

Title : Holes In The Fence
Written by : Sheikh Hassan Seylan 'Abad

Published by : Abad Ceria Enterprise

SYNOPSIS

This story is about a boy who has a very bad temper. Everyone did not like him because of his temper. All his friends and family left him. One day, the boy's father dressed as a servent and called his son "boss". The boy felt sad and guilty. He realised his mistakes. His father told him that every time he throws his temper, he has to hammer a nail into the fences. The boy agreed. On the first few days, he hammered many nails into the fence. As the days passed, he hammered lesser nails. Finally, he stopped hammering nails into the fences. He was happy because he had changed and he did not have his bad temper anymore.

I really liked this story. It was very interesting and it had a lot of morals. The best part of the story was when the boy's father dressed as a servant. That was very touching.

From this story, I have learnt that we must respect our family and friends. We must realise our mistakes and try to become a better person. I enjoyed this story very much.

My Weekend Journal, 14th March 2010 : Fun Day At Pavilion

Yesterday, Sunday, was a very fun day. A few friends and I went to Pavilion to watch Alice In Wonderland. It was such a nice movie. It was the first time I watched a movie in 3-D. Before going to the cinema, I went to Times Bookstore. While, I was reading a book, I saw Nurin Amalin and her sister, Nurin Qistina. In the middle of our conversation of how weird it was to see each other at Pavilion, Emilia Qistina appeared from behind the bookshelves. After a while, they left the bookstore. Suddenly, I saw someone very familiar. It turned out to be my kindergarten friend, Zahra Alhadad!! It was very nice to see them.

Apart from the fun I had at Pavilion, I, unfortunately, got a B in my Bahasa Malaysia test. I will work harder on it during the next examinations.

My Story Review

Title : The Caring Tree
Written by : Sheikh Hassan Seylan 'Abad
Illustrated by : Raihan Munif Bahasuan
Published by : Abad Ceria Enterprise

Synopsis

There are only two characters in this story, the tree and the boy. He was a very ungrateful boy. The boy always demanded for something he wanted from the tree. Everytime, the tree gave the things he wanted unreluctantly.

This story contains many morals, such as being thankful and grateful for everything we have. In this story, the boy was never grateful, eventhough the tree had give all it's belongings such as it's fruits, it's branches and also it's trunk. I think this story was written very well. The story has a great storyline and it was interesting and very nice to read.

This story was taken from the book, Noble Tales Untold.

~*^^*~Chinese New Year Holidays~*^^*~

Happy Chinese New Year! It is the time again, to celebrate the Chinese New Year.

Like the many years that have passed, my family and I went to Ipoh to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The journey to Ipoh took around 2 hours, so we arrived there are 6pm on Friday, the last day of school. We spent 8 nights at my grandparents' house in Ipoh. Unfortunately, I fell sick on the first day of the holidays. I was sick with the fever. I visited the doctor and received some medicine. After about 1 or 2 days, I got much better. We had our reunion dinner with some close relatives. As usual, we ate "Yee Sang", a tradition during Chinese New Year. On the next day, we visited a few relatives and some visited us. My brother and I received quite a number of angpows or hongpows which is known as the red packet in English. When, it was time to leave, I was sad that we were leaving Ipoh so fast. I wish we could stay longer. I can't wait to go back to Ipoh again!

-I am very glad to get 5As in the Intervensi 2. I vow to do my best in the next exam, the ones after that, and of course, the most important, UPSR!!- :-)

That's all for now!

:)

My Weekend Journal, 20th February 2010 : Holidays!

Hi!

I did not get to write last Sunday because my Grandmother's house has no internet. Happy Chinese New Year! Over the last week, my family and I visited some relatives in Ipoh. After that, my cousins, my brother and I did all our homework at my Grandmother's house. One day was not enough to finish everything! Also, I had a fever during Chinese New Year. The doctor in Ipoh was very nice. In Ipoh, there are lots of delicious food such as Mua Chi, Ma Lai Koh etc. etc. We always go to Ipoh to eat that. Well, that's all for now.

We put on scary music at super loud volume, Karl Off -O Fortuna Carmina Burana, then turned off all the lights, put two Furbie dolls on the floor wearing Darth Vader masks, Wrote a note saying, "FOLLOW THE SHELLS" and we put some shells on the ground. Once they followed it, my friend, Erica, will shoot a toy gun at the person and lastly, I will jump out wearing a Batman Mask with a red cloth beneath it and shooting another toy gun.
